By Claire Janish, Director of BiomimicrySA and Syntropy Pty Ltd (South Africa).
Moderator: Jessica Berliner, Researcher and Learning Designer at ReWild Africa.
June 9th, 2020
About the topic
Biomimicry is a way of thinking, a practical approach, a methodology, a science, and a leadership and design discipline, and a lens/frame of reference for viewing the world. The aim is to consciously and systematically understand and apply the principles behind the successful strategies of organisms and ecosystems in meeting functional needs in changing contexts. This can be applied at the simplest level of improving product/process or systems efficiencies, or at more complex levels of understanding how to successfully navigate the multitude of challenges facing organizations.
About Claire Janish

As a Certified Biomimicry Professional, Claire spends her time exploring nature’s genius in diverse ecosystems and shares this new way of viewing and valuing nature through biomimicry expeditions and coaching– teaching & training professionals, students and scholars.
