Webinar – “B Corp Academic Community works to unite academics studying and teaching about B Corporations”

Within the framework of the Women B Online Dialogues cycle, the videoconference “B ACADEMICS” was carried out by Jessica Yinka Thomas. She has over fifteen years of experience working domestically and internationally in sustainable enterprise, social innovation and business development. She currently serves as Director of the Business Sustainability Collaborative at the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University. She is also a Lecturer in the department of Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, where she teaches social innovation and environmental sustainability in the undergraduate and MBA program.

Jessica helped found the Global B Corp Academic Community which is a network of educators and researchers from around the world who are committed to accelerating the sustainable business movement by studying the global movement of B Corporation certification and benefit corporations. B Academics work with each other, the global B Lab network, and the B Corp community to share best practices and identify opportunities for collaboration with regard to research, teaching, and experiential learning.

Women entrepreneurs from Europe and Latin America participated in the conference. This cycle is organized by the B Women Network, whose mission is to promote a purposeful economy, which relies on the power of partnerships and works with the B Movement for gender equity and the climate crisis, three of the 17 Development Goals Sustainable – the «to-do list» of the world by 2030-.
